The home economics faculty is committed to providing students with the knowledge and skills to succeed in life after school. All courses are focused on hands on learning. Practical experience is at the core of our teaching programs.
All home economics staff have extensive industry knowledge and are able to provide support for students across a range of post school pathways. We work closely with our careers department to foster a strong relationship with both community and industry partners. This provides opportunities for employment and further education for all students after their time at Callaghan College Jesmond is complete.
Students work in our modern commercial kitchen facilities that mirror real world, and our assessments involve catering for families and staff functions.
