Student leadership helps young people find their voices, participate in decision-making, and understand their rights and responsibilities as active citizens. It helps students have a real impact on their learning and school environment and prepares them to participate meaningfully in their community.
Students can be leaders in the classroom, through their actions in the playground, through their support for others, or their involvement in academic, sporting, cultural or local community events or projects.

At Callaghan College Jesmond Senior Campus, the Student Representative Forum (SRF) is a prevalent body of students dedicated and committed to the welfare, interests and opinions of teachers, parents and students.
With the Callaghan College Jesmond Senior Campus CORE values at hand, the SRF take on a variety of roles to benefit our school, including but not limited to: Fundraising, Public Representation, Charity and liaise between students and staff.
Every year four captains are voted to represent and speak on behalf of the SRF and the wider student community.
Every single SRF member has been chosen because of their valuable and outstanding set of skills to assist in improving and developing a safe and beneficial school environment – which is a common goal that everyone in the SRF strive for.
Leadership, communication, creativity and organisation are values and abilities that are highlighted and shared in the weekly forum meetings and events planned at Callaghan College Jesmond Senior Campus.
