Two Unit Board Developed Course (BDC) Category A
The business studies course encompasses the theoretical and practical aspects of business in contexts which students will encounter throughout their lives. Conceptually, it offers learning from the planning of a small business to the management of operations, marketing, finance and human resources in large businesses.
Research assignments and case studies analysing contemporary business strategies provide a rigour and depth that lays an excellent foundation for students in tertiary study and/or future employment.
To be successful in this course a student needs to have sound literacy skills (Naplan band 7 or higher) and an interest in the social sciences.
It is recommended that students also study a level of mathematics.
