Science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) education is the learning of science, technology, engineering and mathematics in an interdisciplinary or integrated approach. Students gain and apply knowledge, deepen their understanding and develop creative and critical thinking skills within an authentic context. It may include inquiry and project-based learning.
At Callaghan College Jesmond Senior Campus we offer a variety of courses designed for students of all abilities who have an interest in science, technology, engineering and mathematics.
Through STEM, students develop key skills including:
- problem solving
- critical analysis
- independent thinking
- digital literacy.
Our school provides students with the opportunity to develop and deepen their knowledge of STEM by engaging students in interactive lessons utilising the latest technologies. Our excellent STEM teachers implement quality teaching in their lessons to ensure students achieve the results they desire from their education.
